Iranian Foreign Minister Continues Regional Diplomacy

(MENAFN) Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is set to make another visit to Pakistan following his current trip to Oman, before traveling onward to Moscow, according to a state news agency, which cited the Foreign Ministry.

“It is reported that part of the foreign minister’s delegation returned to Tehran after talks in Islamabad to seek guidance on issues related to ending the war and is expected to rejoin Araghchi in Islamabad on Sunday night,” the news agency said.

Leading a diplomatic team, Araghchi reached Muscat, the capital of Oman, on Saturday evening. On Sunday, he held discussions with Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, focusing on the regional situation and efforts aimed at mediation to bring an end to the US–Iran war.

The visit to Oman came after his earlier stop in Pakistan, where the senior diplomat engaged with Pakistani officials on the possibility of holding a second round of talks with Washington.

The initial round of negotiations took place in Islamabad two weeks ago, but it did not result in any agreement to conclude the war.
