For First Time Ever, STCW Basic Training for Cruise Ship, Yacht, and Merchant Vessel Crews Available for e-Learning

The game-changing courses are developed by renowned e-learning company, SQLearn.

PIRAEUS, GREECE, February 16, 2022 /EINPresswire.com/ -- SQLearn is pleased to announce that STCW Basic Safety training is now offered exclusively through e-learning – a first in the shipping, logistics, and travel & tourism industries.

SQLearn is an IT company that provides robust technological solutions for maritime e-learning, including Learning Management Systems (LMS), web-based teleconference platforms and development of e-learning courses and webinars. The company is known for its creative spirit and imaginative product design that makes measurable and positive business impacts, having gained a strong worldwide client network addressing diversified training needs, language, and cultural needs with sustainable results.

In the company’s latest news, SQLearn has done the unthinkable by developing STCW Basic Safety training that is exclusively available through e-learning courses. The courses are fully developed by SQLearn and are approved by the Liberian Registry, the world’s second largest registry that represents 12% of the world’s ocean-going fleet. Each STCW course is fully compliant with all requirements of Sections A-VI/1-1,2,3,4 of the SCTW Code as amended.

“This pioneering achievement offers a new experience in STCW training, as it allows cruise ship, yacht, and merchant vessel crews to remotely complete STCW training required to be qualified individuals and join vessels, thus saving time and money and not disrupting their careers,” says Antonios Fringas, General Manager of SQLearn. “The training can be completed exclusively online, from home, or even on board, which is ideal considering the ongoing impact of the global pandemic on the accessibility to traditional education resources for seafarers.”

SQLearn’s e-learning library materials are a complete solution of a learning and training system that ensures all trainees will receive the same high level of onboard training and familiarize themselves with the daily operations. The ability to take courses remotely at a convenient place and time is of vital importance in the current working and learning environment.

The STCW Basic Safety courses that are currently offered include:

• STCW Basic Training Refresher bundle
• Personal Survival Techniques refresh, Reg A-VI/1 Par 2.1.1.1
• Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting refresh, Reg A-VI/1 Par 2.1.1.2
• Elementary First Aid, Reg AVI/1 Par 2.1.1.3
• Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities, Reg AVI/1 Par 2.1.1.4
• Security Awareness Training for all Seafarers, Reg AVI/6 /6.1
• Designated Security Duties, Reg A-VI/6

Certificates generated by each course are accepted by all flags that accept IMO whitelist approved training, including U.K MCA, Panama, and Malta. They can also be used to renew CoCs of Liberia, Azerbaijan, Bahamas, Cooks Island, Dominica, Egypt, Hong Kong/P.R.C, Indonesia, Kenya, Malaysia, Marshall Islands, Morocco, Oman, Palau, Tanzania, and Taiwan.

The innovation is pending two more Registry approvals, hence allowing the majority of the worlds’ seafarers to sustain and advance their careers anytime, anyplace, and with lesser costs.
