Middle East investing in tourism and heritage projects

DUBAI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES, September 14, 2016 /EINPresswire.com/ -- The GCC and other Middle East countries are investing heavily in cultural tourism to diversify away from oil reliance in order to develop a more sustainable and resilient economy. As part of this movement, UAE has launched Dubai Historical District (DHD) - that includes 65 heritage restoration projects and 31,000 sqm of museums and has been launched under the directives of HE Sheikh Mohamed bin Rashed Al Maktoum in an effort to boost Dubai’s cultural tourism and is planned for completion by 2018.

With this in mind, IQPC is organising the Cultural Tourism Middle East conference which will take place from 14 - 15 November in Dubai, UAE. This conference will bring together senior officials from the region’s tourism, cultural development & antiquities, heritage & arts, cultural activities and architectural heritage community to discuss the latest developments and strategies to boost cultural tourism in the Middle East.
